HeadComputor

A 15 track alternative rap/hip-hop album (1h 1m 33s) — released April 25th 2005 on Altered Vibes

Music from a galaxy far, far away... released on planet earth March 2005 Prepare yourself to enter the collective mind of Jason Todd and DJ Epcot Center ; an eight limbed psychedelic music machine from un-chartered 'Krylon Worlds', just left of planet funk. Born from the womb of the Def Harmonic family, the duo take their brand of unorthodox Northern hip hop one trip further. J Todd's cosmic parlance is reminiscent of George Clinton, Mark Murphy, Gil Scott Heron and Oscar Brown Junior all wrapped up in the mystical cloak of Sun Ra! He is without a doubt, the Jimi Tenor of hip hop. Epcot Center's beats are as individual as a 'Hardcore Snowflake', and the resulting debut long player is nothing short of 'Fantastical'. A mystical 'Universal Sound' from beyond the Milky Way. The Vanishing System touch down on your hi-fi, boom box and mp3 like the interstellar cousins of artists such as Plantlife, Cee-Lo, Heavy and main man, Andre 3000. Their mix of p-funk, electronica, and rock, with a jazz ethic, is broadening the world of hip hop, and expanding minds the universe over. The underground hit single, 'Krylon Worlds', turned heads, re-opened many ears, and gained the attention of those in the know, such as jazz bible Straight No Chaser magazine, and everyone's favourite boundary pusher, Gilles Peterson. 'headComputor' is nothing short of a revelation. You may never look at hip hop in the same way again.'

Fantastical indeed and superfunky to boot. The Vanishing System are being heralded as the UK?s answer to Plantlife or Outkast. A fanciful claim? On the evidence on this cosmic two tracker probably no ? clearly these guys have talent. 4/5 - Matt Anniss IDJ

?If you liked the Plantlife LP or are a fan of avant garde hip hop then you?ll love the atomic dog?2005 style.? - Dom Servini ?.STRAIGHT NO CHASER

All is not lost for hip hop as long as records like this continue to appear. - Steve Nickolls Futureboogie.com

Sounding not unlike Plantlife jamming with the Pharcyde and George Clinton on the traditional jazz samples, and some eccentric rhyme styles. Coming across as Clouddead with an eye on the dancefloor, Vanishing System are ones to watch - Matt Aniss IDJ

Pretty wonky really, as they blend tough electronic P funk style beats of hip hop, more traditional jazz samples, and some eccentric rhyme styles. Coming across as Clouddead with an eye on the dancefloor, Vanishing System are ones to watch - Joe 90 Futureboogie.com

Awesome, phat & phreaked out hip hop. If you like Sa Ra, then check this out! - Gerd Lovetoparty.

...a lunar funk buggy to ride from time to time, and with ?James T Kirk bringing the noise from earth?, the chance to let his powered-up solar system slang slide into a gratifying, lopsided croon ?feeding off the excess energy from shows...HeadComputor is a thrilling debut.? - Matty O Update
